About the Lincoln Lynx Alumni Assoc

This is the official website of the Lincoln Lynx Alumni Association, the alumni organization of Lincoln High School in Seattle, Washington. Even though the school closed in 1981, the building is alive …and getting better. Several years ago the old school housed Ballard High School while their new facility was being built. In 2004-2006, Roosevelt High School and in 2006-2008 Garfield High School found temporary homes at Lincoln, again while their buildings were being upgraded. Lincoln is currently housing Hamilton International Middle School for the 2008-09 and 2009-10 school years while the Hamilton building undergoes a complete renovation.

Around 1910, an alumni group was formed and every alum was automatically a member, the only requirement was that they attended Lincoln High School. In 1948, there was another alumni group formed for everyone who had been out of school for 35 years. These two groups merged in 1974 becoming the Lincoln High School Associated Classes (LHSAC). At this time it was decided to limit membership to classes who have celebrated their 50th anniversary.

In May of 1990, the Lincoln High School Alumni Association (LHSAA) was formed and its membership was open to any who had attended Lincoln as a student, faculty or staff. In 2002, after a two-year process, LHSAC and LHSAA merged to form the Lincoln Lynx Alumni Association (LLAA).

Membership in the LLAA is open to any person who attended Lincoln as a student, staff, or faculty member. The LLAA has a scholarship program for lineal descendents of Lincoln graduates, promotes and preserves the history of the school, and has events and programs to strengthen the bonds between its members and the community.

Past activities that have been sponsored by the alumni groups have included an open house, T-Day, and a car show across from Dick’s Drive In on 45th. On the drawing board are a golf tournament and another car show. Every May, the Annual Luncheon is held to bring together all classes, to share in the memories, and to promote the spirit of Lincoln High School.

Totem II

Most Lincoln High School Alums remember the school newspaper. It is still printed three times each year and includes lots of information about our school and what our fellow "Lynx" are doing. The totem II can be mailed to you with a paid membership.
